Welcome to the original Learning 2.0 Program. This site was created to support PLCMC's Learning 2.0 Program; a discovery learning program designed to encourage staff to explore new technologies and reward them for doing 23 Things. Since the program's launched, it has fostered Learning 2.0 programs all over the world. If you are interested in duplicating or modifying this program for your organization, please see Program Notes on About Page and contact Helene Blowers for information.

Week 1 Recap

Wow! This first week of L2.0 has been an amazing one with over 70 staff members joining the early the bird crowd and even participants from as far away as Australia joining in the fun. What’s most amazing about this first week for me is that the blogging part of the program hasn’t even started yet – that’s next week – and already participants are blogging about discoveries, sharing their findings, and even connecting with online mentors - Neat!.

As I’ve said before, the big emphasis of this program is on ‘discovery’ and ‘having fun’. From the posts I’ve seen so far it’s evident that PLCMC has a creative and energetic staff (I know, if you’re on staff at PLCMC you already knew this, didn’t you? I’m just stating this for the benefit of those that aren't lucky enough to work here) and there has even been some jockeying for top billing on the blog list (I won’t point any fingers).

Anyway, all I can say is that it has been a great jump start week. For those of you already on board with this learning adventure, thanks for proving that PLCMC has more than it’s share of early adopters. And for those of you just poised on the edge, take the leap with us next week and jump in. The waters pretty warm and the fish won’t bite!

Here’s a quick poll to end the first week on …

Why are you participating in Learning 2.0?
I enjoy learning new things.
Because it looks like FUN.
My boss is making me do it.
To get a MP3 player, why else?

PS: Congrats to Useful Software for being the first official participant to jump on board.

Stay tuned for more fun to follow on Monday. In the meantime … have fun blogging!

  • I heard about this on Library Thing, from Cinnamon-Girl. It looks like a lot of fun so I am in!

  • Very clever, hiding neat simple little widgets into your text - we don't even realize we are picking up skills as we go. You're not a teacher or librarian, you are a magician!

  • It seems to me it is excellent idea. I agree with you.
